❓: Dear Ambassador Antonov, how would you comment on the allegations by the administration representatives that Russia is an unreliable security partner for Armenia?
💬 Anatoly Antonov: Such insinuations of the US officials are outrageous. Americans, in fact, echo the unconstructive public statements made by certain Armenian politicians, who try to absolve themselves of responsibility for their own failures in domestic and foreign policy.
🤝 The Russian Federation has been and remains a reliable ally for Armenia. We have always provided this brotherly nation with necessary assistance including by sending our peacekeepers to Karabakh. The fact that Russian soldiers died at their post only underscores Russia’s willingness to make difficult decisions in order to achieve peace between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
☝️ We call on Washington to refrain from extremely dangerous words and actions that lead to an artificial strengthening of anti-Russian mood in Armenia. Such allegations only testify to the fact that the aim of the United States and its allies is not to normalize the situation and ensure peaceful development of the South Caucasus, but to inflict a strategic damage on Russia and deliberately destabilize Eurasia with a view to ousting us from the region.
