Due to the investigation against Pavel Durov, there is a threat that the special services may withdraw Telegram servers in the US and Europe - this may lead to a complete or partial loss of your data in Telegram forever.

— To save a copy of your data in the desktop version of Telegram - open "Settings" - "Advanced" - "Export data" - mark the necessary data and perform the export.

If the servers are seized and if it suddenly turns out that your Telegram account data is stored there, then the special services will probably get access to them.
