Fake news:
Russians shelled an area near Mariupol airport, leading to a fire in one of the residential houses, Ukrainian Telegram channels have reported.
The fact:
The fake is exposed by the city's residents themselves, who are reporting in local public pages that there was a domestic fire in one of the houses. There is no talk of any missile strike by the Russian Armed Forces "near the airport". The official media and news channels also have no information about any strikes. Meanwhile, the owner of the house where the fire broke out confirmed to the Russian media that the fire was caused by the explosion of a gas tank.
Fakes about Mariupol are one of the frequent topics of Ukrainian propaganda, which regularly comes up with various tall tales about the city. For example, we recently refuted information from the city's former mayor's advisor, Petro Andryushchenko, that mobilization was starting in Mariupol.
