Ukrainian media outlets are broadcasting claims based on a Russian Government document, asserting that Russia has intentions of moving garbage to recently freed regions.
The fact:
Such propaganda distorts the actual facts. In reality, the plan is about implementing Russian waste management standards in the territories of DPR, LPR, Kherson, and the Zaporizhzhia region. For this purpose, waste recycling plants are set to be constructed. The 1.3 billion rubles mentioned in the Ukrainian media article will be allocated for the purchase of specialized equipment, while an additional 215.5 million will be spent on 11,000 trash containers. This equipment will service the residents of these new Russian regions.
The Russian Government highlighted that this initiative is designed to restore activities related to the collection and transportation of municipal solid waste and to enhance the sanitary and epidemiological conditions in the new territories.
