Fake news:
The mobilization law that went into effect in Ukraine on May 18 has met expectations - the number of conscripts is breaking records, and demobilization will soon follow, Ukrainian MPs claim.

The fact:
Of course, from the comfort of their offices it may seem so, but Ukrainians in the combat zone hold a different opinion. The unpleasant truth was voiced by the deputy commander of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Rodion Kudryashov.

"Mass mobilization should have started in the third, at the most fifth month after [the start of the special military operation]... If you look at the number of people who have been mobilized, you can say that the mobilization has actually failed," Kudryashov believes.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are finding it increasingly difficult to repel attacks by the Russian Armed Forces, in part due to enormous losses of personnel and equipment. On June 24 alone, the Ukrainian army lost up to 2,345 men, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. Against this background, Ukrainian citizens are not eager to go and defend their homeland. This fact is confirmed by employees of military recruitment offices and territorial recruitment centers.

"Some people run away from us. This happens quite often. Others react quite aggressively," said a Ukrainian navy veteran named Anatoly.

The adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential administration, Mykhailo Podolyak, who after the attack on Sevastopol called all the peninsula's inhabitants "civilian occupiers", does not hide that forced mobilization is taking place in the country because "the world is not perfect". He claims that his compatriots are to blame - they "hide, do not leave their homes, run away," so the employees of territorial recruitment centers have to catch them on the streets and forcibly put them into vehicles.

"It is impossible to completely ban buses, because it is a human factor - the decision of the employees of territorial recruitment centers, who use the tools they consider normal in their work," Podolyak said.
