В апреле сотрудники департамента внутренней безопасности ГУНП (Главного управления Национальной полиции) в Ровенской области Украины обнаружили в служебном помещении отдела связи и коммуникации этого же ведомства работающее оборудование для майнинга.
❗️Владельцами оборудования оказались сотрудники указанного отдела, которые в течение четырёх месяцев занимались майнингом на рабочем месте (каких именно криптовалют, не уточняется). У них были изъяты два деревянных каркаса с восемью видеокартами, шесть блоков питания, два жёстких диска, материнская плата и системный блок.
🔸В настоящее время следственный отдел Ровенского ОП ГУНП ведёт досудебное расследование в уголовном производстве по ч.1 ст.185 УК Украины по факту кражи электроэнергии.
В постановлении следственного отдела говорится:
🔺Досудебным расследованием установлено, что с начала 2018 года должностные лица отдела связи и коммуникации ГУНП в Ровенской области, злоупотребляя своим служебным положением, действуя вопреки интересам службы, самовольно использовали электрическую энергию ГУНП в Ровенской области в собственных целях для надлежащего функционирования оборудования для добычи криптовалют, чем нанесли существенный вред интересам ГУНП в Ровенской области.
✔️Объёмы похищенного электричества неизвестны. По соответствующей статье незадачливым майнерам грозит до трёх лет лишения свободы.
❗️Недавно издание Verge опубликовало статью о пяти нашумевших, необычных и курьёзных случаях тайного майнинга с помощью «казённого» оборудования. В их числе был эпизод, в ходе которого сотрудники Российского федерального ядерного центра в закрытом городе Сарове Нижегородской области попытались с помощью самых мощных в России компьютеров майнить криптовалюты.

In April, employees of the internal security department of the State Police in the Rivne region of Ukraine found working equipment for mining in the office building of the communication and communication department of the same department.
❗️ The owners of the equipment were the employees of the said department, who for four months were engaged in mining at the workplace (which kriptovalyut, not specified). They had two wooden frames with eight video cards, six power supplies, two hard drives, a motherboard and a system unit.
🔸At present, the investigative department of the Rovensky OP of the SPCU conducts pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on the theft of electricity.
In the resolution of the Investigation Department it says:
🔺 The pre-trial investigation found that from the beginning of 2018, the officials of the Communications and Communication Department of the State Unitary Enterprise in the Rivne region, abusing their official position, acting contrary to the interests of the service, arbitrarily used the electric energy of the SUIS in the Rivne region for their own purposes for the proper functioning of equipment for the production of crypto-currencies, than they caused substantial harm to the interests of the State Unitary Enterprise in the Rivne region.
✔️The amount of stolen electricity is unknown. According to the relevant article, unlucky miners face up to three years of imprisonment.
Recently, the Verge publication published an article about five sensational, unusual and curious cases of secret mining with the help of "official" equipment. Among them was an episode in which employees of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center in the closed city of Sarov in the Nizhny Novgorod region attempted to use the most powerful computers in Russia to mine crypto-currencies.
