40 years ago the future looked like this Ford Probe IV, 1982. One of a series a Probe concepts, this one was a highly aerodynamic saloon with a super-low drag coefficient (CD) of 0.152 meaning it only needed a 1.0 litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The engine was tilted at 70º to fit un her the low bonnet, passengers sat in semi-reclined seating to allow a lower roofline. The flexible front fender skirts were developed by Goodyear.
