Do you have an idea that could make your city more comfortable, help people, bring volunteers together, or change the way we think about the environment? Now is the time to turn it into a real project!

The non-profit organization “Energy of Development” of the State Corporation Rosatom, together with the Primakov Center, is opening applications for the Call for Environmental and Publicly Beneficial Projects for the third time.

This year, non-profit organizations from seven countries are invited to apply:

🔵 Kazakhstan
🔵 Kyrgyzstan
🔵 Türkiye
🔵 Uzbekistan

We have introduced a special category dedicated to the Arctic — “The Arctic: A Territory of Innovation and Sustainable Development.” This category has a broader geographical scope: organizations from all countries, including Russia, are eligible to participate, and universities and museums are also welcome to submit their projects.

Vienna Study Mission | Final Day ⚛

The final day of the program took place at the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the International Organizations in Vienna.

🔵 Participants met with Ambassador Mikhail Ulyanov, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the International Organizations in Vienna. The topics explored throughout the week were revisited through the lens of multilateral diplomacy.

🔵 A series of thematic briefings followed, focusing on the IAEA safeguards system and nuclear security, the future of the CTBT, the DPRK nuclear program, and the peaceful uses of nuclear technology.

The day concluded with an official reception, where participants reflected on the program’s outcomes. Over the course of the week, the group visited laboratories and monitoring centres, stepped inside the meeting rooms of international organizations, and discussed key issues on the nuclear agenda with experts.

To see firsthand what usually remains within the pages of news reports and analytical papers — this is the central idea behind the Vienna Study Mission.

Венская образовательная миссия | Завершающий день ⚛

Финальный день программы прошел в Постоянном представительстве России при международных организациях в Вене.

🔵 Участники встретились с Постоянным представителем России при международных организациях в Вене Михаилом Ульяновым. Темы, которые группа обсуждала на протяжении всей недели, на этот раз рассмотрели через призму многосторонней дипломатии.

🔵 Затем — серия тематических брифингов. Говорили о системе гарантий МАГАТЭ и физической ядерной безопасности, будущем ДВЗЯИ, ядерной программе КНДР и мирном использовании ядерных технологий.

Итоги программы участники подвели на официальном приеме. За неделю группа побывала в лабораториях и центрах мониторинга, переговорных залах международных организаций и напрямую обсудила с экспертами вопросы ядерной повестки.

Увидеть своими глазами то, что обычно остается на страницах новостей и аналитических материалов, — в этом и есть основаная идея миссии в Вену.

How much do you know about the atom? ⚛

At the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the International Organizations in Vienna, participants of the Study Mission put their knowledge to the test by taking the Atomic Dictation 2026.

The international educational initiative is organized by the Union of Nuclear Cities with the support of Rosatom.

Its questions cover a wide range of topics: from the history of nuclear energy and reactor technology to nuclear medicine, the Arctic and space exploration.

After several days of discussions with experts and technical visits, it was time to bring everything they had learned together.

Как много вы знаете об атоме? ⚛

На площадке Постоянного представительства России при международных организациях в Вене участники образовательной миссии проверили свои знания и написали «Атомный диктант — 2026».

Международный просветительский проект Союза «Атомные города», который проходит при поддержке Росатома.

Его вопросы охватывают самые разные темы: от истории атомной энергетики и устройства реакторов до ядерной медицины, Арктики и космоса.

Несколько дней дискуссий с экспертами и технических туров — а теперь время собрать полученные знания воедино и проверить себя.

Vienna Study Mission | Day Three ⚛

The third day showed just how broad international cooperation in the nuclear field can be — from laboratory analysis to a monitoring system operating on a global scale.

🔵 The morning began at the IAEA laboratories in Seibersdorf. At the Visitor Centre, participants explored the wide range of peaceful applications of nuclear technology before seeing some of them firsthand. The programme included visits to the Environmental Sample Laboratory, as well as laboratories dedicated to insect pest control and plant breeding and genetics.

🔵 Back at the Vienna International Centre, the group met with Rebecca Jovin, Chief of the UNODA Vienna Office, and representatives of the UN Nuclear Young Generation. They shared their own career paths and highlighted opportunities for young professionals interested in disarmament and non-proliferation.

🔵 The programme continued with a meeting with Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of the CTBTO Preparatory Commission. The conversation centred on the future of the global nuclear test ban and the challenges ahead.

🔵 The group then saw the International Monitoring System in action, visiting ground-based and roof top facilities before moving on to the International Data Centre, where data from across the globe are collected, processed and analysed.

🔵 The working day concluded at the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA). The discussion focused on international cooperation in the peaceful exploration and use of outer space and the potential of space technologies to contribute to sustainable development.

The weekend is ahead — and with it, a chance to discover the history and culture of the Austrian capital.

Венская образовательная миссия | День третий ⚛

Третий день показал, насколько разным может быть международное сотрудничество в ядерной сфере: от работы с образцами в лаборатории до системы мониторинга, охватывающей весь мир.

🔵 Утро началось в лабораториях МАГАТЭ в Зайберсдорфе. В Центре для посетителей участники узнали, насколько широки возможности мирного атома, а затем увидели некоторые из них на практике: посетили лабораторию анализа проб окружающей среды, а также лаборатории борьбы с насекомыми-вредителями и селекции и генетики растений.

🔵 Затем группа встретилась с руководителем Венского офиса Управления ООН по вопросам разоружения Ребеккой Джовин и представителями Молодежной ядерной группы ООН. Они поделились собственным профессиональным опытом и возможностями для молодых специалистов в сфере разоружения и нераспространения.

🔵 Разговор продолжился на встрече с Исполнительным секретарем Подготовительной комиссии ОДВЗЯИ Робертом Флойдом. В центре внимания — будущее запрещения ядерных испытаний.

🔵 В Подготовительной комиссии ОДВЗЯИ участники также увидели, как работает Международная система мониторинга: посетили наземные и расположенные на крыше станции, а затем Международный центр данных, где поступающая со всего мира информация проходит обработку и анализ.

🔵 Рабочий день завершился в Управлении ООН по вопросам космического пространства. Обсуждали международное сотрудничество в мирном освоении космоса и возможности космических технологий в интересах устойчивого развития.

Впереди — выходные, а значит время познакомиться с историей и культурой австрийской столицы.
