Hundred and thirty-seventh (137th) Lesson
1. After an hour's walking and an hour's culture, I felt№ hungry.
2. I looked in vain for an English restaurant but there wasn't one in sight (1).
3. I could have eaten№ pizza, crepes, hamburgers, but no English food.
4. So I went into a pub and had a pint of beer and a sandwich.
5. Then I continued my explorations. One thing struck№ me:
6. The theatres and cinemas were all cheaper than at home.
7. A good seat in a theatre was about ten pounds.
8. I made№ up my mind to go and see a play before leaving№.
9. My first day was exhausting (2). I saw№ so much that I can't remember everything.
10. I noticed how the Londoners I saw seemed calmer, even at five o'clock during the rush hour.
11. Another thing that impressed me was the number of parks:
12. St James, Hyde Park, Green Park – and you were allowed to walk on the grass (3).
13. I went to Speaker's Corner and listened to somebody talking about immigration.
14. He said the country was full of foreigners, so I went away quietly.
