💢 The United States has effectively waged economic war against itself, Major General Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said, arguing that Donald Trump’s policies have imposed a massive debt burden on Americans and US allies.
“He came with the campaign slogan ‘Make America Great Again.’ But what has he made great? He has made their debts great,” Rezaei said.
According to Rezaei, Washington now has to borrow at a rate 3.7 times that of 2020, adding roughly $3.7 billion in annual costs for every $100 billion of debt. He also pointed to Japan, where 10-year bond yields have risen to around 3%, describing it as the end of Washington’s “free ride”:
“For Tokyo, this means higher debt costs, and for Washington, it means the end of the free ride and the arrival of the bill.”Subscribe
