The International Friendship Club of Yugra met with representatives of Senegal, one of our partner countries, at the 2026 International Festival of Youth 🥳
As part of our cultural mentorship initiative, we decided to share the traditions of our countries with each other. From the Yugra side, participants had the opportunity to discover the culture of the Khanty people. We shared the story of the Mother Raven — “Vurӈa imen ar”, symbolizing the arrival of spring, warmth and the continuation of life, and then made candles together from beeswax sheets with northern herbs.
Our friends from Senegal introduced us to Senegalese culture through dance and taught us traditional movements.
Thank you to our friends from Senegal for this warm and memorable meeting! ❤️
