The Philosophy of Gaming
Part 1
Too much for too little… the dark side
▪️ There’s so many games… Since I’ve overcome the choice paralysis, it shouldn’t be a problem, and it’s not. The problem is life itself, a human life – it’s short. So the state of being human stands between me and playing games for thousands of years… And that answers the second question, btw. Phew, that was quick…
▪️ As you might’ve guessed, the aforementioned is true not only for video games. Humans (well, some of them) have managed to create so many beautiful things that you’d want to live only to experience those things. And they continue creating… If you like books, like, truly like them, you’ll never want to die because your lifetime isn’t enough to read all of those books that you could’ve enjoyed. The same goes for films, series, YouTube videos. Take music, for instance. If you’re willing to experiment, you’ll never run out of amazing stuff to listen to. I’m currently listening to Caural and The Flashbulb, and that stuff never ceases to amaze me. Would I want to just grow old and die? Of course not, I’d rather find thousands more gems like that to work out to and lull me to sleep afterwards for thousands of years to come. We live in such a prolific period of human development that boredom is thrown out the window, but gravely enough, the brevity of a single life still persists…
