Так вот, последнее занятие должно было быть уроком повторения в контексте Should We Inconvenience Ourselves for the Sake of Connection? И чтобы вообще ввести этот контекст, я нашла крутую статью.

2⃣We've been told to set boundaries and stop talking to people who always tell us about their problems. ➡ We've been told to set boundaries and cut off people who 'trauma-dump' on us.
✅cut off sb = прекратить общение с кем-то
✅trauma-dump on sb = вываливать на кого-то свои травмы
3⃣Now we're being told to make more effort for each other, or we might end up alone. ➡ Now we're being told to go the extra mile for one another, or risk dying alone.
✅go the extra mile for sb = приложить доп усилия ради кого-то
4⃣People are lonelier than ever, but they don't see it has something to do with not accepting other people's little habits. ➡ People are lonelier than ever, but see no connection to their refusal to bear each other's quirks.
✅bear sb's quirks = мириться с чьими-то причудами
5⃣Accepting that people can sometimes annoy you or interrupt your usual routine is a normal part of living with other people. ➡ Tolerating some social friction or disturbances to your preferred routine is simply part and parcel of being a social creature.
✅part and parcel of sth = неотъемлемая часть чего-либо
