On October 2, a presentation of the new book by Professor Vladimir Shubin took place at the University of the Western Cape.
Vladimir Shubin is a Russian historian specializing in African studies, a Doctor of Historical Sciences, and a professor; he is one of the leading experts on the history of Africa.
📖 “From Cairo to Cape” tells the story of Africa’s historical ties with the USSR, and in particular, how Russia supported the liberation struggle in South Africa.
The book sheds light on the diplomatic, ideological and strategic aspects and contributes to a deeper understanding of the relationship between the USSR and Africa, as it is based on the author’s personal experience.
