🛡🇩🇪 Is the German economy shifting to a war footing?
The German conglomerate Rheinmetall plans to expand and restructure its production. The company intends to repurpose two factories that are currently civilian enterprises producing automotive parts to manufacture products for its military division.
The management indicates that final decisions "on this venture" have not yet been made, but it is obvious that it will soon be approved - the company's capitalization has increased more than 9-fold over the past three years. At the same time, sales in the civilian part of the business declined over the first three quarters of 2024, while the military division's product sales grew by 64.3% during the same period.
📌 It is clear that the beneficiaries of the conflict will use this "unprecedented growth" to the fullest, especially given the trends in the US administration. After all, it is quite convenient to hide behind the fact that one can no longer rely on NATO's defense.
This was also made clear by the likely new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who stated the need to rearm the country and deal with the defense of Europe under the pretext of achieving independence from the US.

For Germans, this means another round of huge budget injections, the burden of which will fall on the shoulders of working taxpayers: war is fueled by money.
