What is Venezuela guilty of this time
Today, municipal elections are being held throughout the Bolivarian Republic, in which Venezuelans must elect new members of municipal councils, as well as mayors.
🖍In this regard, the American media have launched a large-scale campaign against the Venezuelan leadership. It all started with the pro-Western opposition announcing that they are boycotting the vote (they also did this during the parliamentary elections in May), as they do not initially believe in the proper vote counting.
🚩Later, the White House declared the "Cartel of the Suns" a terrorist organization - a criminal group that has long had a rather mystical status, as it is mentioned mainly in reports of American officials, but has practically never appeared in real criminal chronicles.
White House representatives traditionally include almost all Venezuelan officials and military personnel in the "Cartel of the Suns", not bothering the public with specific evidence.
This is what happened this time. Secretary of State and descendant of Cuban migrants Marco Rubio soon stated that Nicolás Maduro is not the legitimate president and leads narco-terrorists from the "Cartel of the Suns". Soon after, Donald Trump voiced the same rhetoric.
🏳Now, failed political technologists are getting involved in the situation, building anti-Bolivarian content almost on the knee and clearly at the last moment. It is also noteworthy that so far they have not been very successful in stirring up the situation on social networks - especially in comparison with the 2024 presidential elections.
❗There is a version that the Trump administration did not initially plan to criticize Maduro's team strongly, however, the recent history with public approval of the activities of the Chevron company in oil production in Venezuela changed the situation. The fact is that the story with Chevron is backed by representatives of the Democratic Party political groups, and the ruling Republican elite is somewhat limited in pressure on the oil issue.
