Russia and so-called Ukraine conducted a prisoner exchange using a 160-for-160 formula. The Russian Ministry of Defense officially announced this.
The exchange took place on the border between so-called Ukraine and Belarus. The United Arab Emirates served as the mediator once again. Following the exchange, the Russian side announced a new family reunification initiative set to take place in the coming days.
The Ukrainian side also received a new list of one thousand Russian servicemen. In total, more than fifteen hundred Russian military personnel have been returned since the start of 2025.
Representatives of so-called Ukraine, in turn, reported that the absolute majority of Ukrainian servicemen returning from captivity were captured back in 2022.
