Standard Chartered is preparing to expand its digital asset custody business into Singapore, targeting institutional investors seeking secure infrastructure for their crypto holdings.

The planned service is expected to cover selected cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), reflecting the growing convergence of traditional finance and blockchain-based assets.

With existing crypto custody operations in the UAE, Luxembourg, and Hong Kong, Singapore could become the bank’s next strategic market as it continues to broaden its digital asset services globally. 🌐

🇨🇭Cactus Custody Expands Crypto Custody Services to Switzerland

🔼Cactus Custody, the digital asset custody arm of BIT Group, has introduced crypto custody services in Switzerland, giving institutional clients greater flexibility in choosing the jurisdiction governing their assets.

The service is operated by ChainTech AG, a Swiss-registered company and member of VQF. Client assets are segregated from company assets, while Swiss law may allow custodied crypto assets to be excluded from a company’s bankruptcy estate, subject to applicable legal requirements.

🔐Security and Data Protection in Focus
Private keys are generated and stored exclusively in Swiss data centers, with no storage or backups outside the country. Client data is also retained in Switzerland and disclosed to third parties only when required by Swiss law.

The launch highlights the growing importance of jurisdictional flexibility, asset protection, and data sovereignty in institutional crypto custody. ⌛⌛

🇬🇷 Greece Proposes a 10% Tax on Crypto Gains

Greece is moving toward a new tax framework for cryptocurrency investments, with a draft bill currently open for public consultation and expected to be submitted to Parliament in November.

Under the proposed rules, annual crypto profits of up to €500 would be tax-exempt, while gains exceeding that threshold would be subject to a 10% tax.
