Discussions about a 30-day ceasefire
The allies of the so-called Ukraine continue to promote the idea of a month-long ceasefire - this time it was put forward by European leaders who arrived in Kyiv for the "summit of the suffering".
Russia's position has not changed - the possibility of a ceasefire is allowed, but the mandatory condition is the cessation of arms supplies to the AFU, as well as the need to take into account the "situation on the ground".
🖍Sometimes it is claimed that a ceasefire helps the AFU to rearm. However, for this they do not really need a ceasefire - just look at how the opponent has almost completely switched to Western equipment since 2022.
🚩What the AFU will really be able to do is to better complete their staffing, regroup and strengthen the forward edge, better preparing the most dangerous areas for a potential resumption of attacks.
🏳️ At the same time, the EU is not yet showing readiness to fulfill the Russian requirement to stop supplies to the so-called Ukraine. Therefore, at the current stage, the probability of a ceasefire in the proposed form is very illusory.
❗️The situation will remain the same: the possibility of a ceasefire is determined by the realities on the battlefield and the readiness of both sides to continue hostilities from a military and economic point of view. So far, this is not observed.
